Sewing the Yukata

How to sew

13.Attaching the reinforcement collar

Fold 1 cm from the raw edge. Adjust the thread orientation at both ends and fold 1.5 cm.
For men's yukata, the reinforcement collar length is 15 to 17 cm from the lowest part of the tip of the strip varying according to one's height.
Since the seam allowance of the reinforcement collar is 1.5~2 cm, cut out the cloth at 94 to 98 cm.

If you are small:
(9(circumference of neck opening)+21(おくみ下がり)+15(剣先下がり)+2(かけえり縫い代))×2=94㎝

If you are tall:
(9+21+17+2)×2=98㎝

Fold the corners at an angle and smooth it out.

Pull out 0.2 cm of the reinforcement collar and overlay on the center back and the collar, matching the center points and mark with pins.

Sew the tip of the reinforcement collar. Turning inside out, stitch along the line 0.5 cm from the fold line.

Apply even slipstitches on the reinforcement collar. Apply fine stitches around the neck opening.
Apply even slipstitches on the back side of collar.
